The Best 2023 Black Friday Beauty Deals
Black Friday deals have started to drop and so far they are looking more generous than usual. I wouldn’t declare myself an expert in beauty deals but I would say that I have a pretty good gauge of what a good deal looks like on a brand by brand basis. This is a result of years of summarizing Canadian-friendly beauty deals on Margin Of Beauty. While you can find a comprehensive list of all the Black Friday beauty deals on this site, I thought I would help narrow down the best of the best. The main qualifier being that it is the best discount or offer that I have ever seen by that beauty brand or retailer. So without further delay here is my list of the best 2023 Black Friday beauty deals. Sephora
Okay…I am impressed. These daily deals are certainly not new to Sephora but they sure have upped their game this year. I went back to last year and while a lot of the featured brands are the same, the discount was only 25% off. I was pleasantly surprised by the 30% off. It is a better deal than some of these brands are offering on their own sites. Finally, I want to point out that historically these Sephora daily deals have been applicable on all products in the brand including sets. This is a bonus as a lot of brands exclude sets from their Black Friday sales on their own sites.
Huda Beauty
I am always weary when brands advertise “up to 80% off.” This usually means you need to search through dozens of items to find that one item that is actually 80% off. Well, that is not the case here. The discounts are spectacular and this is best sale I have ever seen from Huda Beauty. For example, the GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder that is originally $42 is now on sale for $8.40. I am seeing drugstore prices in this sale! Also, there are daily offers that are pretty lucrative which I will summarize here as they are announced. If I had to find a downside to this sale it would be that products are selling out quickly and new releases are excluded.
Morphe – Sale has been increased to 50% off!
I can’t say that I am a Morphe fan but I certainly can’t hate on this sale. There are almost 700 products that are 45% off and arguably they are already well priced. What makes this sale even more special is that Morphe has barely run any promotions since declaring bankruptcy in January 2023. This sale has been worth the wait and is one of the best 2023 Black Friday beauty deals.
Grande Cosmetics
I wouldn’t say that Grande Cosmetics is known for their frequent and generous deals. They run the standard 20% off during most major holidays but that is about it. This Black Friday discount is the best you will see from them so if you are a fan of their products get out that credit card.
Murad
If you have seen some of my previous posts on Murad you will know I have never had anything nice to see about their deals. Prior to this year, the best I have seen from them is 20% off. This is a deal you can easily get at Sephora during their Savings Events. Well, that has certainly changed this year. Earlier in the summer they offered a 25% off sitewide sale which was impressive. This week I almost fell off my seat when I saw them announce their 30% off Black Friday sale. This is the best deal I have ever seen from Murad. Looks like they finally got the memo.
Urban Decay
A year ago I probably wouldn’t have included Urban Decay on this list. Running a 30% off sale was the norm for them but that seems to have changed this year. Their sales have become few and far between and almost none have had these types of discounts. What I especially like about this sale is that all new releases are included. This isn’t always the case with Black Friday deals and the only exception here is gift sets.
MAC Cosmetics
You are probably wondering how this 30% off MAC Sale made it on this list. This level of discount is not new to MAC and in fact they run it multiple times a year. Well, there is something special about this sale this year. It includes their brand new holiday releases! I heard a rumour that it would but I didn’t believe it until I actually placed my order this morning. You do need to have a MAC Lover account so make sure you sign up if you want to get your hands on their discounted holiday makeup.
Chatters Hair Salon
Chatters Hair Salon is no slouch when it comes to running promotions. They pretty much run them weekly and usually feature different products or brands. Sometimes these sales can be as high as 50% off but again they are usually specific to one brand or product type. The one thing they haven’t done all year is run a sale with as deep of a discount as 30% off which includes hundreds of products. This one may be worth checking out.
Pat McGrath
I debated including this Pat McGrath Black Friday sale for a few reasons. Firstly, this is the exact same deal as last year so it is not really novel although it is their best deal of the year. Secondly, the discounts are based on spend thresholds which makes the 40% off bittersweet. What is even worse is that these thresholds are in U.S. dollars so they are even higher in Canadian dollars. The good news is that hitting these thresholds isn’t hard with Pat McGrath prices and 40% off is pretty sweet. I should also mention that this sale includes new releases. Finally, I have some intel which indicates that there are more Black Friday deals to come for Pat McGrath and they are juicy. Stay tuned…
Bobbi Brown
I personally have been waiting for the Bobbi Brown Black Friday sale. They typically only do a 30% off sitewide sale once a year so it really is the best time to shop. I also need to give them a shoutout because this discount includes new launches and holiday releases. The only products that I can see that are exempt from this sale are their gift sets and advent calendar.
Embryolisse
Embryolisse is known worldwide for their iconic Lait-Crème Concentré. It is a staple for many makeup artists and enthusiasts. This 25% off Black Friday sale is a great time to stock up as this is their most lucrative discount that they run all year. It also gives you a chance to explore the rest of their line-up.
NARS
I am conflicted about this NARS Black Friday deal. On the one hand, it is the best discount they have offered all year. On the other hand, it comes with stipulations and you need to spend $125+ to get anything better than the 20% off which is their norm. I still think it belongs on this list because if you are a NARS fan then this is the time to shop. I should also mention that there is a gift-with-purchase if you spend $150+.
VERB
Putting this VERB sale on the list is a no brainer. This 30% off Black Friday deal is without question their biggest discount of the year. You will typically see one promotion from them a month but they are usually 20-25% off. I also want to give them kudos for having a reasonable shipping minimum of $40. Overall, this deal is a win.
Laura Mercier
It seems as though this year is a toss up between brands including holiday releases in their Black Friday deals or not. I was impressed when I saw Laura Mercier announce their sale. Not only is it the best discount that they have had all year but they are also including holiday kits at 30% off. That makes this deal worth checking out.
Moroccanoil
This Black Friday advertisement says it all. This truly is “the first time ever” that Moroccanoil has run a discount like this Canada. I have complained time and time again about their lame promotions and they have finally given Canada a semi decent deal. I am not saying that 25% off is the best discount out there but when it comes to Moroccanoil this is practically free! Maybe we can get them to 30% off next year?
Shiseido
Shiseido has come a long way. I barely used to look at their Black Friday deals but a lot has changed. Gone are the days of offering only 20% off and they have started getting more competitive. This deal is by far their most lucrative all year and hitting $200 for that 30% off isn’t the biggest challenge.
Origins
I haven’t seen a 30% off sale from Origins all year which is a deviation from previous years. It looks like they were saving the best for Black Friday and they sweetened the deal even more with a great gift-with-purchase. I should also point out that they are doing 50% off flash sales daily. Make sure to keep checking their site for different products that are half price.
Glossier
I am not a big Glossier shopper but I keep an eye on their sales. I don’t think I have seen one promotion this year outside of a gift-with-purchase. It is nice to see that they approached Black Friday with a decent discount and I am impressed. If you love Glossier then I say now is the time to shop.
Gen See
There certainly is no false advertising here. This really is Gen See’s only sale of the year. I don’t really have much else to say on this one but happy shopping.
