About Me

Like a lot of you, I am obsessed with all things beauty. In fact, it is only getting worse and my skincare regime has become a 10+ step ritual that is constantly evolving as I try new products and fine tune what is best for my skin. I do a lot of research on beauty sales (I mean a lot) and when sites like Clinique are consistently advertising 20-30% off sales you start realizing that there must be huge margins in the Beauty Industry. Buying products full price just doesn’t make sense anymore and there is almost zero reason to ever have to do it again. I have decided to start this site for three reasons which I am listing below and which I hope can resonate with you but more importantly, help you.

  • I have nothing against the U.S. but boy are they spoiled when it comes to Beauty products! I am sure you have all gone to a beauty brand site that you love and discover that they do not ship to Canada or you start putting items in your cart only to see a bunch of import fees, taxes, and duties appear at checkout. On top of that, the site is promoting a sale but with all these fees the cost of the product is more than the original price! Well, I refuse to ever experience that again and I have figured out alternatives for almost every brand which I plan on sharing on this site. I will summarize for you the best place to buy every brand and the best time of the year to buy it.
  • I love Sephora but it is not the be all and end all. We have all lived through the anticipation that comes with the semi-annual VIB Sale and the opportunity to score savings of 10-20% on our favourite beauty products but believe me, you can do better! I called my sister during the last VIB Sale to see what she was going to buy and I nearly fell off my chair when she started listing brands like Origins and Shiseido. Pardon? I told her to wait 3 more weeks when I know both brands will be holding 20-30% off Black Friday sales on their websites. Don’t get me wrong, the Sephora sale makes sense for a lot of brands that don’t ship to Canada online and that never get marked down at other retailers. I will let you know what those brands are and which to never buy during a Sephora sale.
  • I love supporting Canadian business! A lot of my favourite skincare brands originate abroad but if I have the opportunity to support a Canadian based business that is selling my brand (for a reasonable price) then I will. I hope to introduce Canadian e-commerce sites that operate like a Sephora with many unique brands at competitive prices and free shipping! I stumbled on some of these sites looking for specific brands in Canada and I will provide my reviews as well the best time to buy on these sites.

I hope you enjoy what I have to share and the information on this site. It is a work in progress but I hope to make it a comprehensive and one-stop shop for all things beauty in Canada. I also welcome all feedback and comments so we can make this site even better. Enjoy!
