iHerb Canada Beauty Review

I am officially addicted to shopping for beauty products on iHerb Canada. I used to associate their website with supplements and wellness products until I was on a search for a specific retinol product and found it on their site. It was then that my world changed. In addition to their vast selection of beauty brands, I was impressed by their competitive prices which often beat the sale prices of other sites. Here is my iHerb Canada beauty review and the five reasons why I love their site.

1) They sell over 3000 skincare and makeup products.

It would probably take a whole day to fully scroll through the beauty category on iHerb. The last time I looked there were roughly 3600 beauty products and that isn’t even including haircare and body care. You can find products from all beauty genres including drugstore, K-beauty, and organic/natural brands. Examples of brands include Maybelline, Cosrx, L’Oréal, Physicians Formula, Missha, Neutrogena, Sukin, Olay, Mad Hippie, Pacifica, and lots more.

2) They publish the actual expiry dates on product pages.

Aside from their competitive prices, I think my favourite thing about iHerb is that every makeup and skincare product page has the “Best By” date for the inventory that they have in stock. Figuring out the expiry date for beauty products is not always straightforward and iHerb has taken out the guesswork. You know exactly what you are getting. You can also check out my blog post called Understanding the Shelf Life Of Beauty Products for more info on this topic.

3) Their regular prices can’t be beat.

Okay, let’s be real. Product variety and expiry dates are great features but we are all looking for the best prices when we shop and this is what prompted me to write this iHerb Canada beauty review. This isn’t the case for every brand on iHerb but there are multiple brands where the prices are 20-30% lower than other online retailers. It used to be my go to place to buy my holy grail Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask until they stopped selling the brand all together. The Lip Mask was $22 on iHerb compared to $29 on Sephora. This competitive pricing is the same for other brands such as Missha, Cosrx, and more.

4) They run sales regularly on top of their competitive prices.

In addition to their already competitive regular prices, you can count on iHerb to run some sort of discount or promotion almost weekly on their beauty products. I typically wait for these deals to do my shopping. I took advantage of the sale below to pick up Mad Hippie’s Vitamin C Serum. This Serum costs $44-$47 on most sites (Amazon, Well.ca, etc.) while the regular price on iHerb is $33. Layer in a 26% off discount and I nabbed this gem for just over $24! This is one example of the dozens of deals I have scored on iHerb.

iHerb Anniversary Deal

5) They sell products not available anywhere else in Canada.

I first discovered iHerb on my search for the brand Differin which is not sold in Canada and impossible to find here. I stumbled upon iHerb Canada and was over the moon to finally be able to get my hands on the famous Differin Adapalene Gel without having to wait for a trip across the border. This was also the case with the skincare brand RoC before it became readily available in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart. My latest success on iHerb has been with the brand L.A. Girl and their eyebrow pencil. I first picked it up at an Ulta Beauty store in the U.S. After falling in love with it, I realized the brand is not available in Canada. I have since discovered it on iHerb and can now readily access my holy grail eyebrow pencil for $5 CAD.
