2023 National Lash Day Deals

National Lash Day is coming up which means mascara deals are going to be plentiful. This special day falls on February 19th and the objective of the day is quite simple; to promote the love for lashes. The history of National Lash Day can be traced back to 2015, a move that was declared by the House of Lashes brand. It is now recognized by many other makeup brands who celebrate the day with various promotions. Here is a round-up of all the 2023 National Lash Day deals and whether they are worth your dollars.

Bobbi Brown

This sale is bittersweet. On the one hand, 30% off is pretty decent for Bobbi Brown and as high as they typically go when it comes to sales. On the other hand, you need to spend $75 to get free shipping. Unless you are picking up other products then this deal isn’t as great as it looks.

YSL Beauty

Initially, nothing about this deal appealed to me until I thought about the math. This works out to 25% off provided you pick two mascaras that cost the same. 25% off is pretty generous for YSL Beauty as they usually reserve this discount for spend minimums of $150-200. Not super exciting but something to consider.

MAC Cosmetics

Okay…this is leaps and bounds better than MAC’s offer last year. Regardless, I would probably still holdout for one of their sitewide sales where they historically have gone as high as 30% off. This is especially worth considering ever since MAC switched from free shipping with no minimums to free shipping on orders over $35.

Marcelle

Marcelle is hands down one of the most generous beauty brands when it comes to frequency of sales. They literally have a promotion every week on their site. Unfortunately, I have to say pass on this 20% off sale as you can get almost double that discount during some of their other promos.

Clinique

No one does beauty deals quite like Clinique and I am not surprised by their generous Lash Day deal. They are marking down their mascaras to $19 which represents a 37% off discount. To make this even more lucrative, they offer free shipping with no minimums so you only have to commit to the $19 mascara.

Sephora

This sale is on par with what Sephora offered last year and way better than the mascara deal that they start off this week with. This makes them more competitive with what Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, and Well.ca are offering which is also 50% off select mascaras. It also appears that they have marked down some additional mascaras by Tarte, Fenty, IT Cosmetics, and more.

NOTE: It doesn’t appear that the deal is fully live yet as there are only 6 mascaras on sale at the moment and none from the brands listed below.

Shu Uemura

I am always impressed by the frequency and generosity of Shu Uemura’s deals. They have had sitewide sales as high as 35% off which is pretty major. Their National Lash Day deal is no slouch and the math works out to 33% off. I would call this one of the better deals on this week.

Grande Cosmetics

I can’t say that I have been blown away by any of the 2023 National Lash Day Deals so far but this one is impressive. 30% off is a decent discount for Grande Cosmetics and what I love is that even with this discount, you can still qualify for free shipping. Looks like they did the math!

Urban Decay

While 30% off is not a shabby deal, it doesn’t compare to Urban Decay’s 50% off select mascaras promotion that they ran last year. Also, if you are a fan of Urban Decay you know they literally have a sale every other week and 30% off is their norm. My recommendation is to hang tight for their sitewide sales where you have a better chance of hitting the $50 needed to get free shipping.

Shoppers Drug Mart

The Shoppers Drug Mart mascara deals won’t be live until the 19th but historically they have had some pretty lucrative discounts. Brands like Benefit, Lancôme, Clinique, and more have been discounted as much as 40-50% off. It is definitely worth checking their site or popping into a store.

Well.ca

I wouldn’t dismiss Well.ca as a competitor when it comes to beauty deals. They run sales weekly and their biannual 20% off Beauty Events have become a contender against Sephora’s VIB Sales given their breadth of brands. Their Lash Day deal is no different with 50% off mascaras by Clinique, Benefit, Nudestix, and more.

NARS Cosmetics

Well…this is new. NARS has usually celebrated National Lash Day with a gift-with-purchase so it is nice to see them step up with an actual discount. The compliments stop there though as 20% off is not exactly appealing and you are better off spending your mascara dollars on some of the other lash deals.

Thrive Causemetics

Let’s start with the good. Thrive Causemetics finally has a Canadian website and we now have access to their popular tubing mascara. Now for the not-so-good. The deals they have been offering Canadians are quite unappealing and this Lash Day deal is no different. Let’s hope they are working on this area.

ColourPop

Given ColourPop’s already very competitive pricing, I would consider this an amazing deal. That puts the dozens of mascaras that they offer all under $10. The piece of the equation that makes this deal hard to shop is that Canadians need to spend roughly $83 CAD to get free shipping.

Pat McGrath

This is a winner. I am not talking about the actual mascara quality but rather the deal itself. 40% off is a great discount and the best part is that Pat McGrath offers free shipping on all orders, no minimum required. It is also worth noting that at the time of this post that Pat McGrath is running a sitewide sale of 25-30% off and that they are offering a gift-with-purchase. Not too shabby!
