The Green Jungle Beauty Shop Review

About The Green Jungle Beauty Shop

Before I dive into my The Green Jungle Beauty Shop review, I thought I would provide some background on the company. The Green Jungle Beauty Shop is a Canadian online shop that specializes in natural and organic beauty products. This includes skincare, makeup, and haircare products. They offer a wide variety of ethical beauty brands such as 100% Pure, Living Libations, and Herbivore Botanicals. With a commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable beauty solutions, The Green Jungle Beauty Shop caters to those seeking quality and conscientious beauty products. They are 100% Canadian-owned and operated and are based out of Ontario.

The Green Jungle Beauty Shop was launched in 2015 with a mission of giving consumers an alternate to the mainstream beauty brands that sell products with harmful ingredients. Every brand sold on the site is carefully selected by the founder with a focus on brands without any chemical or synthetic ingredients. They also focus on procuring brands that are hard to find on other sites in Canada. This is evident when you look at their list of brands. There are dozens that I have never heard of nor have I seen on other beauty sites. They have thousands of products from over 140 brands that range in price point with some luxury beauty options available as well.

If I had to compare The Green Jungle Beauty Shop to another Canadian site it would be Socialite Beauty. They share many common brands but The Green Jungle Beauty has a much longer list of brands that I have not seen sold anywhere else.

The Green Jungle Beauty Shop Perks

I have mixed feelings about The Green Jungle Beauty Shop. Their biggest strength lies in the list of brands that they carry and the difficulty in finding many of them anywhere else in Canada. I have a lot of fun going through the brands and reading up on each on them. As a beauty lover, I get excited discovering new brands especially on a Canadian site. The Green Jungle Beauty Shop has a couple of paragraphs describing each brand which I find incredibly helpful. I should point out that they sell very few mainstream brands and these include Ilia Beauty, Kosas, and RMS Beauty.

Another strength worth mentioning is their shipping time. Every order I have placed has arrived in less than a week and I have never had any issues with my orders.

Now to cover what I don’t love about The Green Jungle Beauty Shop in this review. Given their commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable beauty solutions, they are a no frills type of retailer. For example, they do not provide any samples with orders and it is rare that I have seen a gift-with-purchase. Unboxing an order from The Green Jungle Beauty Shop is quite anticlimactic. You can expect a brown cardboard box, some white tissue paper, and your product(s). They also have a pretty strict return policy in that returns are not accepted. While I understand how this aligns with their mission, I find it very limiting and it makes the shopping experience a bit less enjoyable. I would never purchase anything from their site that requires shade matching as you are out of luck if you get it wrong.

I also need to complain about their sales and discounts. I have been watching this site for years and I can’t say that I have every seen a sitewide sale over 15% off. This includes Black Friday and Boxing Day. Occasionally they do have a 25% off sale but that is limited to a small and select group of products. It is hard to get excited about 15% off especially with all the deals that are out there on other sites. They seem to be less generous with discounts than other beauty retailers. I even struggled to find a first-time buyer promo code. There was no welcome code when I subscribed to their emails. I had to search the web to find one which I have included in the table below. They did send me a birthday promo code though for 15% off an order. That was a pleasant surprise.

Not only does this company not accept returns for the “wrong lipstick color” they adhere to their no returns policy when they send you rancid product! I just ordered a $100 cream that I really needed as it is the only thing that works on a painful skin issue I experience. They sent me a jar that was rancid. They ignored me for over a week when I reached out. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me the cream was made two years ago. The GJBS got back to me finally, had me send pictures, descriptions, then decided nope, the cream is fine, no one has had a problem with it! Terrible, insulting customer service. I had shopped with them many times but will never trust them again. I gave them the benefit of the doubt despite their dismal reviews, because I know how unreasonable people can be. Expecting fresh product is not unreasonable. They should be ashamed.

Wow! That sounds terrible and I am sorry you had that experience. I agree that fresh product should be a given. Thanks for the heads up and for sharing your experience.

Ashley, I am so sorry this happened to you. Expecting a fresh batch for something you paid is not unreasonable. I had a horrible experience with them just now. If you on Trust Pilot you will see that a lot of people have had similar experiences. And they have dealt with all of us in a similar manner: By resorting to lying, threats, and intimidiation instead of holding themselves accountable. That says a lot about who they are. I also posted about my experience here on Margin of Beauty. And I reached out to MONASTERY (the skin care line) to inform them that this retailer is charging people for selling their products which may not even be authentic and/or fresh. As a Canadian Citizen who only supports local Canadian businesses, I am saddened and disgusted by this retailer’s behaviour.

I wanted to buy my face oil from MONASTERY. All Canadian retailers and the official Monastery website itself was showing the oil was ‘Out of Stock’. I signed up on all the websites to receive a notification when the oil was back in stock. I received an email notification from The Green Jungle Beauty Shop on July 6, 2025, informing me the oil was back in stock. On the same day I placed my order and they charged me $254.25. A few hours after this I received an email from Marco, a customer care representative. He informed me that the oil is on its way in an “Upcoming shipment” and they are expecting it “In the next two days”. I immediately responded asking why they are sending notifications and charging people for an item that is still on its way in a shipment. No response. Then I received an email from Marco informing me my order has been cancelled. I did not give them permission to do this. I emailed to find out when the refund will be issued to me. No response. To date I sent FIVE emails begging for a refund. I went on TRUST PILOT and saw how many people have been scammed by this retailer! It is disturbing! I posted a public review. They responded today by threatening and intimidating me with legal action, and made up a whole bunch of lies about how I communicated with them. The pathetic thing is that they sent similar responses to everyone on Trust Pilot who spoke up and told the truth about the experiences they had with the retailer! As a Canadian Citizen who only supports local Canadian businesses, this makes me very sad. I am grateful for ALL the people who have posted public reviews about The Green Jungle Beauty Shop. I hope our reviews will save and protect other innocent people out there from giving this place any business.

I am sorry that this happened to you. I am starting to see a pattern based on some of the comments I have recieved. Thank you for sharing your story. Hopefully it helps others from ending up in a similar situation.

I also had a bad experience with them… after many good experiences. I bought a lip product that was rancid. I didn’t immediately complain, and when I did, they told me I was outside of their return request window. Which is 7 days! That is very short. In any case, I feel that if they cared about their customers they would honour them and refund or replace the product. I won’t be shopping there again and want to underscore that buyers should beware of this shop.

    • Margin Of Beauty

Hi Melissa! Thank you for sharing your experience and my apologies that you had to deal with that. I agree in that retailers should make exceptions especially when it comes to the quality of products recieved. I appreciate you posting and giving other readers a heads up.
