2021 Singles Day Beauty Deals In Canada
There is a new holiday in town. Singles Day, as the name suggests, was started as an unofficial celebration of a person’s singledom to help people show their pride in being single. It was actually founded in the 1990s by university students in China but has only been adopted in North America over the past five years. The date selected was November 11 because it is fittingly full of 1’s to symbolize solo life.
Overtime, this day has quickly grown into a fun, unofficial holiday in which single people across China (and now the world) treat themselves and splurge on goods they wouldn’t otherwise buy for themselves. Singles Day has transformed into a massive one-day shopping event where retailers have pounced on the opportunity to profit from single consumers. Retailers provide deals and promotions to incentivize consumers to shop for themselves. It is a lucrative online shopping holiday that has surpassed Black Friday in certain countries. Here is a comprehensive list of all the Singles Day beauty deals in Canada. This list will be updated daily as new deals are announced.
La Roche Posay
I wouldn’t say that La Roche Posay is known for their deep discounts. The most I have seen from this brand is 20% off and that is usually for Black Friday as well as for their holiday sale in December (see their sales schedule here). Nonetheless, they have decided to jump on board the Singles Day beauty deals bandwagon and offer 11% off sitewide along with a gift-with-purchase.
Clinique
One of the first to announce their Singles Day deal, Clinique has come to the table with a less than lucrative promotion. Known for their frequent 30% off sales, this 20% off promotion is hardly anything to celebrate. They have sweetened the deal, however, with a gift-with-purchase and a free full size product based on how much you spend. If you are a fan of Clinique then I would probably hold out for their Black Friday 30% off sale. Check out their sales schedule here.
Lancôme
When it comes to Lancôme, 25% off is probably as good as the deal is going to get. This Singles Day sale is quite exceptional for Lancôme as they typically only offer 25% off on orders over a certain threshold such as $150. They are known for their generous gifts-with-purchase and this deal is no exception. I must say that I am impressed and this promotion is better than I anticipated!
Urban Decay
Urban Decay is a brand that I consider generous when it comes to the deals they offer and the frequency with which they offer them. It feels as though there is a new promotion on their site every week! As a result, buying their products full price doesn’t make sense anymore. Compared to all the Singles Day beauty deals, I can’t say that theirs is too exciting as they haven’t really marked down many items. Check out their sales schedule here for more lucrative times to shop.
Biotherm
Historically, Biotherm has not celebrated Singles Day with a discount and the same is true this year. Although they are not offering a sitewide sale, they are recognizing this unofficial holiday with a pretty appealing gift-with-purchase. If you are looking for a Biotherm deal then hold tight as their Black Friday sale is around the corner. You can get between 20-25% off based on how much you spend. See their full sales schedule here.
Shu Uemura
It is no surprise that Shu Uemura has stepped up for Singles Day with an enticing promotion. I have been watching their website for over a year and their discounts are frequent and pretty generous. The only thing trumping this sitewide 25% off sale and gift-with-purchase is their upcoming Black Friday deal which historically has been anywhere from 30-35% off. Thank you Shu Uemura!
YSL Beauty
I can’t really say I am disappointed in YSL Beauty’s Singles Day promotion. As far as discounts go, 20% off is as good as it is going to get for YSL although they do introduce a 25% off sale during Black Friday if you spend over $150. Their gifts-with-purchase are always appealing and this one is no different. I would say this deal is a win.
Origins
When it comes to gifts-with-purchase, Origins certainly deserves an award. It is not rare that they offer full size gifts which is part of their Singles Day promotion. The other part is their 25% off sale which is decent but not the best that they can do. Hold tight for Black Friday where 30% off is usually their norm.
Clé de Peau
It is hard to get excited about 11% off but when you look at Cle de Peau’s history, this deal can be considered meaningful. They almost rarely run discounts and it is kind of endearing that they are trying to participate in Single’s Day. Last year they ran a 20% off sale for the first time ever in celebration of Black Friday and I am patiently waiting to see if they repeat that deal.
Bumble and bumble.
Nothing about this deal makes me want to stock up on my B&B favourites. If you just spend the minimum amount of $65 you are getting the equivalent of 17% off. You are better off waiting for their Black Friday sale which is usually 25% off and something worth celebrating.
Kiehl’s
When it comes to Singles Day beauty deals, it is clear that Kiehl’s has really stepped up for the occasion. On top of a sitewide sale, they have sweetened the deal with free samples and a gift-with-purchase based on how much you spend. My only advice is that if you hang in there just a bit longer then you may score an even better deal with the Kiehl’s Black Friday sale. Historically they have offered 25%-30% off based on how much you spend. You can see their sales schedule here.
e.l.f. Cosmetics
If there was ever a time to sign up to e.l.f.’s loyalty program, now is that time. Those who are members of e.l.f.’s beauty squad are entitled to their 40% off Singles Day promotion. Given that e.l.f. products are already competitively priced, I would say that is an amazing deal!
Tarte Cosmetics
I have mixed feelings on Tarte’s Singles Day promotion. On the one hand, it is an amazing deal for their mascaras and lipsticks which are 50% off. It doesn’t get much better than that. On the other hand, everything else on their site is only 25% off and you are better off waiting for their 35% off sitewide sales which they hold multiple times a year.
Laura Mercier
The Laura Mercier Canadian website is still in its infancy as it was only created this year. Kudos to the brand for creating a site for Canadians but so far their promotions have been a bit uneventful. Aside from offering regular gifts-with-purchase, the most you will see from Laura Mercier is 20% off. I am curious to see what their Black Friday sale looks like and would advise holding off until then.
Moroccanoil
Moroccanoil may have a Canadian website but they are definitely a disappointment when it comes to deals. I have boycotted them altogether because there is nothing I find more frustrating than brands that run generous sitewide sales on their U.S. website but offer nothing on their Canadian site. Moroccanoil very rarely offers promotions in Canada and I was surprised to see a gift-with-purchase for Singles Day. Hopefully they will be stepping it up going forward.
Kérastase
Kérastase is a respected brand but I can’t say that they are known for their generous sales or promotions. They certainly do not stand out when it comes to Singles Day beauty deals. I am curious to see what they come to the table with for Black Friday. Otherwise Sephora’s biannual VIB sale is your best bet for getting a deal on their products.
Other Deals/Offers
Here are some other Single Day beauty deals that have been announced. Don’t forget to check back here daily. I will be updating this page as soon as new deals are announced. Happy shopping!
