PART 2: My Favourite Products – How Much Did I Save?
Welcome to the second part of my Favourite Products series. Since this blog is focused on beauty deals in Canada I thought I would create a series of posts of the products I use and how much I saved versus their retail value. You will be shocked at the total savings once you get to the bottom of the page!
Side note: I am not affiliated with any brands. I simply love these products and they work for me.
Weekly Exfoliator
I rotate between two exfoliators that I use every three days. Below is the second one that I love (I covered my other exfoliator in part one). On a side note, this exfoliator is a game changer and it is not surprising that it is called “Hollywood’s 2 minute facial.” The results are amazing!
- Product: Kate Sommerville ExfoliKate Intensive Pore Exfoliating Treatment (60 mL)
- Retail Value: $110 at Sephora
- How Much I Paid: $61.60 at Sephora during the VIB sale (I actually bought it as part of a value set and I was blown away that the price of the value set was $77 and it came with deluxe samples of other products…the kit sold out in minutes)
- Savings: $48.40 or 44% off
Day Eye Cream
I typically keep three different eye creams in my rotation. In the first part of this series, I covered off the Bobbi Brown one that I love and the savings I got. The next eye cream that I am absolutely obsessed with is one by Shiseido. The formula is perfect and it has made a difference in the wrinkles under my eyes. I make sure to time my purchases so I am never left without it (see the Shiseido sale schedule here).
- Product: Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream
- Retail Value: $85
- How Much I Paid: $68 during the Shiseido Friends & Family Sale
- Savings: $17 or 20% off
Lip Treatment
I am constantly on the hunt for a great lip serum or treatment in an effort to prevent aging lips and lip wrinkles. I have three different lip treatments that I find effective and one of them is by Dr Dennis Gross. I found a great Canadian Beauty Retailer called Eternal Skincare with an e-commerce site that sells a lot of incredible beauty brands. Not only am I thrilled to support Canadian business but they usually have some sort of enticing sale every month. See my review of Eternal Skincare here.
- Product: Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Collagen Lip Cushion
- Retail Value: $40
- How Much I Paid: $30 during the Boxing Day sale at Eternal Skincare
- Savings: $10 or 25% off
Face Primer
I have a lot of face primers but only a handful of them are ones that I use regularly. One of my favourites is by Smashbox. They have quite the selection of primers for all different skin types which gives me comfort in that they know what they are doing. I have tried most of their primers but my favourite is their one for Oil & Shine Control. Also, I give major props to Smashbox for launching their Canadian website last year, offering great deals and free shipping ALL THE TIME (see the Smashbox sale schedule here).
- Product: Smashbox Photo Finish Oil & Shine Control Primer
- Retail Value: $50
- How Much I Paid: $35 during their Cyber Monday sale
- Savings: $15 or 30% off
Lip Balm
Lip Balms are probably the one beauty product that I get the most excited to try. One of my absolute favourites is the Lip Fetish Balm by Pat McGrath. I scored the most amazing deal that I ended up buying every single colour! The Pat McGrath website had a 50% off sale on these lip balms and they also had a 20% off sitewide sale happening at the same time. Well there must have been a glitch because the 20% off got applied to my order (they caught the problem in the same day and fixed it). To top it off, Pat McGrath is one of the only beauty sites I know that allows you to use and stack their 10% off first purchase promo code during sales. I ended up saving over 60% on the lip balms! Pardon?
- Product: Pat McGrath Lip Fetish Balm
- Retail Value: $52 (they have since been relaunched and are now $49)
- How Much I Paid: $18.75 during their Summer VIP Sale
- Savings: $33.25 or 64% off
