Gee Beauty Review

About Gee Beauty

I only discovered Gee Beauty in the past couple of years and boy am I glad that I did. Before I dive into my Gee Beauty review, I thought I would provide some background on the company. Gee Beauty is a modern beauty destination retailing skincare, wellness and lifestyle brands from around the world. They are also known for their private label makeup line which they describe as an edit of everyday makeup essentials that speak to real women.

The company was founded in Toronto in 2005 by a mother and her three daughters. In addition to their online retail shop, they also own studios in Toronto and Miami that offer signature treatments include brow, skin and makeup services. Gee Beauty currently sells over 700 products from higher end brands such as Augustinus Bader, Dr. Barbara Sturm, U Beauty, Dr. Sebagh, and more. They have even helped launch brands like Tata Harper and Le Labo to the Canadian market. The Gee women claim to have tried and tested it all to bring only the best in products and treatments.

Gee Beauty Perks

I have placed many orders on the Gee Beauty website and the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Let’s start with the positives. I absolutely love the variety of brands and products that they offer. It is my go to for stocking up on my SkinCeuticals faves as they are the only site that discounts the brand by 20% off. In fact, getting 20% off on some of the brands they offer is a rarity as they never go on sale anywhere else. Such examples include Dr. Sebagh and U Beauty. Gee Beauty’s deals are infrequent (see the sales schedule below) but they are worth the wait. I should also point out that many of their sales are unadvertised on their site so subscribing to their newsletters is a must. This is how I have discovered many of their one-day flash sales.

Another positive is their samples. They are very generous with the samples they give out and the samples are for the premium brands that they carry. See the photo below for the samples that I got with my last Gee Beauty order. I do have one negative that is related to their samples. You need to spend $100 to get the samples which is something I have not seen before. While it is pretty easy to spend $100 on their site, I don’t think there should ever be a spend threshold for samples.

Now on to the negatives in this Gee Beauty review. Aside from my complaint about the minimum spend required for samples, I really only have one negative. That is their shipping. You need to spend $100 to get free shipping which is think is simply too high for any company. They tend to run the most amount of sales on their private label Gee Beauty makeup line and I haven’t been able to take advantage of them. My cart is always less than $100 when it comes to their makeup and I refuse to pay a $15 shipping fee.

I use this Serum religiously and purchase it from either Gee Beauty or Beautysense. I will say that the best discount I have ever gotten on this Serum is 20% off and that is from Gee Beauty. They are an authorized SkinCeuticals Retailer.
