About Boutique Skin Envie
Before I dive into my Boutique Skin Envie (BSE) review, I thought I would provide some background on the company. BSE is an online provider of professional grade skin, hair, and body products. They are 100% Canadian-owned and operated and are based out of Quebec. The company was started by a mother and daughter duo that claim to understand best-in-class products chosen by industry professionals at spas, salons, medispas, clinics and the doctor’s office.
BSE was launched in 2015 and they currently offer over 4000 products from Canadian and international brands. They are regularly adding brands to their site with the latest addition being Augustinus Bader. BSE has become more than just a beauty retailer as they have a blog, podcast, app, points program, and more.

BSE reminds me a lot of Beautysense, which is another Canadian beauty retailer that I have reviewed and shop at regularly. They carry very similar brands but there are some glaring differences. While Beautysense offers free shipping on all orders, BSE only offers free shipping if you spend a minimum of $99. This threshold is disappointing and I have seen more competitive shipping minimums from brands or retailers that ship from the U.S. I should point out that BSE does have loyalty tiers and if you spend $2000 in a year you become eligible for free shipping on all orders, no minimum.
One area that BSE really shines in is their frequent promotions. I can’t say that I have ever visited the BSE website and not seen a promotion. Most of their sales are brand specific and I don’t recall ever seeing them run a sitewide sale. If you are a patient though, you will eventually find the brand you are looking for on sale. This even includes coveted brands like SkinCeuticals and SkinMedica. BSE recently launched an app and many of their promotions are “app only” which makes it worth downloading. I have had my eye on the $250 SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex and I was able to get it 20% off on the BSE app which is the best deal I have ever seen on this product.
I have placed quite a few orders since discovering BSE and my experiences have all been positive. Their shipping times do tend to be all over the place. I have received some packages in four days and others in over a week. They have a great points program (see below) but you cannot redeem points during sales. This is very frustrating especially when getting products on sale is not a difficult task on their site. This limitation is reminiscent of Sephora’s points program which leaves a lot to be desired and is not user friendly.
